With the significant changes to the quiz bowl world amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we are making a number of updates to our release plans.
While it was initially scheduled to release this month, Schurniverse (our set focused on the projects of Michael Schur) will be delayed. The excitement for this set has been significant, and we want to ensure that players are able to enjoy this one in person when it is safe to do so. As such, we are planning to release this set in May 2021, so it can be played during nationals season.
We intend to release our next specialized sets, ACRO-Demia (pop culture with academic answer lines), and TOEJAM 3, will release in the Fall and Winter of 2019, respectively. The exact release times and manner in which these will be played is TBD, but we hope there will be opportunities to play these sets in person as well.
In addition to Schurniverse, 2021 will also bring ACRONYM 14 in the early spring, and we are pleased to announce plans for SNICK 2, a sequel to our all 90s set, to be released in late summer/early fall.
Lastly, the postponement of Chicago Open Trash to 2021 means we will also be pushing Super ACRONYM to the summer of 2022. We are in favor of alternating years with the good people on the CO Trash team, and are happy to cede next year’s slot so they can produce another fantastic set.
